Please note that the development lies within the parish boundaries of Holton.

The following information was received from the Director of Estates, Oxford Brookes Wheatley Campus on 24th January 2018:

‘Oxford Brookes has now submitted an outline planning application for the redevelopment of the Wheatley Campus site. The application and it’s amendments are available to view on the South Oxfordshire District Council’s website.

The application seeks outline planning permission for a total of up to 500 dwellings and associated infrastructure (including access, open space, a sports pavilion and drainage systems). All detailed matters are reserved for subsequent approval by the Local Planning Authority with the exception of vehicular access into the site.

The University has undertaken further technical and design work in response to a number of comments made. This includes additional work in relation to trees and landscaping and further consultation with local representatives on the aspirations for sports provision in the area.

This has ensured further quality, mature trees are retained where possible and incorporated into pockets of open space interspersed throughout the site. This, in turn, creates a more integrated network of Green Infrastructure and reduces the overall density of the development and the number of dwellings proposed from ‘up to 600’ to ‘up to 500’ dwellings.

In addition, the proposals now include a new sports pavilion building which would provide a multi-functional space for use by the wider community.

The University will soon begin marketing the site for sale through an external tender process managed by their consultants, GVA. The purchaser may in due course submit for the approval of reserved matters including detailed layout, landscaping, and appearance of the development. This will provide further opportunity for members of the public to engage with proposals for the site as these are developed.’
