War Memorial and Gardens spruced up for the Remembrance Sunday Service

In time for Remembrance Sunday, the War Memorial was pressure cleaned, the names of The Fallen were re-painted, and a new plaque ‘2014 THEY ARE NOT FORGOTTEN’ was added.

A big thank you to a team of enthusiastic six formers from Wheatley Park Academy who volunteered their time to to lay three tonnes of new gravel on the Memorial Garden path.

Thank you also to the War Memorial Trust for the matched funding and for the efforts of volunteers from the British Legion, Wheatley Parish Council and the Wheatley Society.

In the near future a new wooden bench, matching the existing one, will be installed in the Memorial Garden with a plaque ‘ They Were a Wall Unto Us’.
